About Me

I am currently a student in the MLIS program at Queens College. This is my first semester I am currently taking my core classes , one of which is GSLIS 700 Technology of Information. You can find a list of the core required classes for the graduate program here.
In this course I am learning how to use various information technologies to enhance my skill set and prepare to be a librarian in the 21st Century.
In this class I will learn how to make a website with HTML. I will also learn how to create Wiki pages like this one and use Social Media for the workplace!

Some of my favorite things, and what I am most passionate about are listed below:

  • Music I love Music! Lizzo is one of my favorite artists out right now. Click on this link to see one of her feature on NPR's Tiny Desk and

become more familiar with this amazing artist.

  • Travel: I'm super passionate about my love for Travel. I love to learn about the heritage and art of different cultures, see new places, and most of all meet different types of people.

Puerto Rico, Cuba, Trinidad, and
Colombia were some of the favorite destinations I have visited.

  • Book List: One of my favorite books of all time is Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. It's a collection of short stories that have made

such huge impact on the world in such a short amount of time. A must read for all!

  • Natural Hair: Feeling good about yourself and having a positive self-image keeps you mentally healthy and empowering others to feel good about themselves is a goal of mine. I currently have

club at the school where I currently teach that provides a space where students can voice feel safe to express themselves in addition to learning tips about style techniques and
product navigation. Follow the roots_nhc instagram page to become inspired.
