I'm Carrie, and I am a full-time student in the Master of Library Science program at Queens College.  Before beginning my MLS program, I was a Social Worker for 7 years.  I also have a Master of Social Work degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History.

After beginning the MLS program, I found myself drawn to archives. I'm currently completing my core courses, and I look forward to taking my first archives course this summer. I am an intern at the
CLAGS Archive at the CUNY Graduate Center where I am working on a digitization and research project of CLAGS Newsletters. The internship will culminate in an exhibit of CLAGS Newsletters, posters, and ephemera in the Graduate Center Library.

See my LBSCI 700 colleague Alexandra's page: Alexandra Torres

Soon, I will begin a new internship at the Leo Baeck Institue. Leo Baeck Institute is the foremost repository preserving the heritage of German Jews.
My duties at Leo Baeck Institute will include:

  • Pre-processing archival collections
  • Assisting the Archivist in meeting with families to assess the appropriateness of materials for the LBI Archives
  • Cataloging donations
  • Fulfilling reference requests
